Known among his peers as one of Chicago’s most versatile multi-instrumentalist sidemen, Doug Corcoran has been playing trumpet and keys on the Chicago music scene for over a decade. With a degree in jazz trumpet from Indiana University, Doug currently tours as the sax player for roots rock band JD McPherson, doubling on guitar and organ. Highlights include performances on David Letterman and Jay Leno and arena concerts as the support band for Bob Seger and Dave Matthews Band tours. Especially active on the Chicago blues and R&B scene, he has been with Brother John, the house band at Buddy Guy’s Legends, since 2000. He also plays with Chicago bands Liquid Soul, Midnight Sun, the Special 20s, Gerald McClendon, and many others.
