Skip Towne and the Greyhounds capture audiences with their own top notch brand of “The Blues with a Feeling”! The XXX dynamic, large-size vocals of PETER QUINN are a must to be heard. He sings the classics, the ballads, and ALL the blues with such hard pushing drive and emotion that the crowds always fall for Peter’s special delivery! Everyone will hear a lifetime of devotion to the Blues in the Guitar style of HARRY REINHART (Midnight, Traffic Jam, The Moon-Rays). His daughter, Haley Reinhart, placed third in the tenth season of American Idol, was signed to 19/Interscope Records and released and toured in support of her debut album “Listen Up!” since May of 2012. Radiant chords and smokin’, tasty solos are Harry’s specialty.
“BROTHER JOHN KATTKE” has played with Eric Clapton, Steve Miller, the Black Crowes and acquired ringing endorsements from many other world renown musicians including Led Zeppelin vocalist, Robert Plant, You play a mean guitar! And George Benson, “You’re fearless! I thought I was fearless!” A vital component of Buddy Guys and Koko Taylor bands, and prior leader of Otis Rush’s band for three years, John is a brilliant vocalist, guitarist and pianist. The power-packed “Big House Horns” consists of veteran saxman, TOM “SHOES” TRINKA (Jump ‘N The Saddle, Mickie and the Memories), joined by Peter Quinn on harmonica. JOHNNY “SHOWTIME” JANOWIAK (Grammy Nominated, Liquid Soul), DOUG CORCORAN (Liquid Soul, JD McPherson, Deal’s Gone Bad), DAVID KATZ (The Jazz Consortium, Pete Ellman Big Band, Bill Byan Big Band), JOHN BOWES (Aretha Franklin, The Temptations), KENNY ANDERSON (Ohio Players, Chicago Storm) and ED ENRIGHT (Outcast Jazz Band, Lesly Byers), are often added for larger shows. “Johnny Showtime” has played with Liquid Soul, Soulio, Room for Cream, Larry King Orchestra, and Tributosaurus. The Big House Boys excel at solo and section work.
JOHN “PHLOSS” RICE (Blind Boys of Alabama, Mavis Staples, Wilco) is an exceptional, first call Nashville-Chicago session man with credits a mile long who often plays with the band providing contrast and added depth on guitar, fiddle, dobro, mandolin, and lap steel. From Steam-Train Rhythms to Chicago Shuffle Beats to soulful slow Blues numbers, the pairing of DEREK BRAND’S (Nicholas Tremulis (NTO), Billy Corgan, Hubert Sumlin, Steve Earle, Ronnie Spector) bass and JIM MURRAY’S (Nightflight, RPM, Soul Shakedown, Michael McDermott) drums make the music a total groove. Skip’s rhythm section is a unified pounding heartbeat resulting from a rich blend of their music theory backgrounds with years of studio work and live performances. Peter, Harry, John Rice and Jim Murray have also appeared acoustically as “THE DRUNK WHISPERERS” releasing their single “Don’t Come Running Back To Me” on 12/12/12 with the full CD release January 18, 2013.
